Seeking a new horizon

“Each step you take reveals a new horizon. You have taken the first step today. Now, I challenge you to take another.” – Dan Poynter

Tranquil Waves Yoga is the new horizon in my life journey and I am genuinely excited to share it with you.  It has not been an easy path to get here, but I truly believe that each obstacle I faced was there to teach me something that I needed to be able to reach this point. Each trial we face, whether we come out seemingly on top or not, is an opportunity to learn and grow.  The challenge is to keep trying, keep adapting, and continue to make progress when and where we can.

I have spent the last eight years as a physical therapist assistant helping patients achieve their physical rehabilitation goals.  It has been immensely rewarding and has pushed me in ways I never expected.  One of those nudges was into a deeper yoga practice and creating Tranquil Waves Yoga is another step on this path.  There are many benefits to combining the knowledge I have gained from studying to become and working as a physical therapist assistant with the insights acquired from studying and practicing yoga.

My knowledge and experience, as both a physical therapist assistant and a yoga teacher, have given me a unique opportunity to be able to better guide you on your own path.  Whether you are just curious about what options are available to you, you have been encouraged by a healthcare provider to consider trying yoga, or your physical therapist recommended that you look into practicing yoga as part of your continued rehabilitation, I am positioned to empower you from where you are on your own personal wellness journey.

The use of yoga as part of the health and wellness continuum can have significant impact on your outcomes.  Through yoga’s mindful movement you can learn to cultivate a greater awareness of your own body and its sensations in addition to developing a deeper connection to yourself.  This is a deeply personal practice and journey so no two people will have the same experience and no one person will have the same experience each time they come to the mat.  This connection and knowledge of self can help you create and maintain a deep, sustainable, and empowering practice to serve your needs now and in the years to come.

Your physical location is not an obstacle to benefiting from yoga.  In light of current circumstances, all sessions will be conducted virtually via a live private one-on-one Zoom call.  Our sessions will focus on your personal goals and empower you to take a more active role in your wellness journey.  You will ultimately be the one guiding the practice based on what you need in that moment.  I am simply a facilitator for this process.
